How long does it take to recover after rhinoplasty?
The answer depends partially on if you feel comfortable going out while there is still some post-operative bruising and swelling. Some patients feel fine returning to work or school after about 5 days, but others wait 10 to 14 days. It can take several months for residual swelling to subside completely. You’ll see initial results after a week or two, but it can take up to a year for final results.
Can rhinoplasty improve my breathing?
Some patients who want to change the appearance of their noses may also have a deviated septum that makes it difficult to breathe. Combining septoplasty with cosmetic rhinoplasty improves obstructed airways.
Is rhinoplasty performed the same way for men?
The techniques our surgeons use for male rhinoplasty are fundamentally the same, but they also take care to preserve the nose’s masculine appearance. In general, most men have larger noses than women and don’t want the bridge of the nose too narrow. Men also tend to have thicker nasal skin, which may affect how the surgeon performs the procedure.
